The World’s Most Prestigious Global Awards for New Product Design and Graphics
In our search for a new wooden chair for Lundbergs Contract we started our work by looking in to our Scandinavian heritage and history. In Sweden we have a long tradition of wood, in many various manners and not least in furniture production. A very strong image, almost an icon, of Swedish culture and history is the traditional pinnstol (wooden chair with turned sticks).
In this traditional chair we found our inspiration when we created LEO. But Leo is more than just a romantic idea about our history.
We wanted to combine a strong identity (Sweden), a solid construction (Triangle) and a good use of the material (wood).
The strength of the triangle is well known and well used for all different kinds of construction solution. In our work with Leo we wanted to use the triangle to create a good, solid and durable chair for public spaces such as cafés and restaurants. The use of a triangular construction (in the meeting of the back leg and back rest) also makes it harder to weigh on the chairs’ back legs, which often destroys the chair.
We are very happy to announce that we have received the prestigious good design award for our work.

Bright, plate and bowl with candle holder, and Luva, glas for schnapps, will be released at the Fomex fair in Stockholm 2011.09.01-2011.09.04.

A new luxury restaurant in Stockholm will open up this fall. We are happy to announce that we will be in charge of the interior. The restaurant will be run by a Swedish international famous chef. More information and details will follow…

At the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2011 we presented Leo, a chair and a table perfectly suitable for restaurants and cafés. Leo is the result of our interpretation of our Scandinavian heritage and design traditions. The furniture are being produced by Lundbergs Contract.
